Birth Control Shot

There are many different contraceptives out there for women to take, like the pill, or the birth control patch in order to prevent pregnancy. The birth control shot however prevents pregnancy, for up to fourteen weeks, and is ninety-nine percent effective.

Many women use things like the birth control pill, or the patch in order to prevent pregnancy. Some women even go futhur then that, and do things like a surgical procedure commonly called “tying the tubes”, in which they get there reproductive track altered in order to prevent from getting pregnant. The birth control shot though is a contraceptive used about once every twelve weeks, that prevents the woman from getting pregnant for up to fourteen weeks at a time. The shot itself is called Depro-Provera, the shot itself is made up mostly of the hormone similar to progestin, and is very effective.

The shot itself is almost always effective in preventing pregnancy, and is less of a hassle then the pill, and patch are to many women. Although the shot can cause different side-effects like irregular vaginal bleeding, weight gain, depression, and different things in that nature. The weight gain is caused by the very high level of progestin that is in the shot itself. If you want to be safe from getting pregnant for a long time, and not have to worry about taking a pill everyday, then this method is for your its highly effective, and removes the hassle the patch, and the pill have.

Many doctors recommend this shot, because alot of women sometimes forget to take there pill, and have sexual intercourse, and if that happens then your are more likely to become pregnant, but with the shot you only have to have it once every twelve weeks, and then forget about it, and you can have sexual intercourse without the worry of becoming pregnant. The shot though does not protect from STDS, these can be preventing very easily though, just use a condom with the shot, while having intercourse.
