Birth Control Patch
The birth control patch is a method in which use a patch placed on either there lower stomach, or back to help prevent pregnancy. The patch is similar to that of the birth control pill, both have th exact same hormones in them, and prevent the woman from getting pregnant.
This method has become just about as popular as the regular birth control pill has become. Many woman like the using the patch more then the pill because with the patch you just have to put a new one on every week, opposed to taking the birth control pill each day. The patch that a lot of women use has the hormones estrogen, and progestin in it just like the birth control pill, and just like the pill the patch has the same side-effects as well. Just like the birth control pill the patch can cause side-effects like weight gain, vaginal bleeding, and depression in some cases, although it is rare.
Many women worldwide use the patch more then they use the pill, because like I stated above the patch is alot more hassle free, then the birth control pill in which you have to take at least once a day for it to be effective. The patch though has a little bit you have to keep up with, you need to place it in the first cycle of your menstrual cycle, and change it ever week to keep up with your cycle to make sure your on track, so that the hormones are still within your body so that they can prevent the pregnancy from happening.
Many doctors recommend using the patch rather then using the birth control pill because a lot of women might forget about taking the pill, and if they have sexual intercourse there is a high possibility that they will become pregnant from it. A Lot of doctors also recommend the patch because it has a lower dose of the estrogen, and the progestin hormone in it, so if side-effects do occur they are not that bad, as with the birth control pill.
